Jamie Puchinger, Assistant Manager at Farming Smarter, says, by splitting the Pesticide Applicator Workshop into two sessions, they are better able to ensure people stay engaged.
Hosting the workshops virtually over Zoom means people can take it wherever they are in the comfort of their own homes.
“There’s applicators across the province and there’s not a lot of training opportunities or education spots to get these continuing education credits, CEUs is what we call them,” says Puchinger.
She adds, “When we identified this need, it was during COVID, so it was an online format, and because we had people registering from across the province and even outside of Alberta, we recognized that it was important to maintain it as an online event just so that more people can access the information and get the credits.”
More than 60 people are currently registered to take part in the Pesticide Applicator Workshops, and spaces are still available.
You can take part in both sessions for $250, or a single day for $150.
However, the real value, according to Puchinger, is to sign up for Farming Smarter’s Digital Learning subscription.
For just $250 annually, you can register for the Pesticide Applicator Workshop and also receive many other benefits, such as delivered hard copies of the Farming Smarter Magazine, exclusive updates and reports on current research, a monthly subscriber-only newsletter, the subscriber YouTube library with over 850 videos, and more.
