Our Field Tested team wrapped up their Precision Planting project - a field-scale adaptation of our Agronomy Research team's small plot research testing precision planters to air drill seeders.

Our Precision Planting Canola study has been published in the Canadian Journal of Plant Science! The study looked at the effect of seeding canola using precision planters and conventional air drill seeders at different seeding rates on plant density and seed yield.

Precision planted durum trials test the effects of agronomy tools on the yield of irrigated durum. We test precision planted versus air seeding planted plots; different seeding and nutrient rates; varying row spacing; and more.

Kubota Canada needed a partnership to put a Great Plains precision planter through its paces. Farming Smarter Field Tested offered to use one of these planters for our field scale trials.

This week we talk to you about durum agronomy and specifically, planter research. Someone told Ken Coles that durum agronomy hasn't seen updates for 20 years. Coles got on the case to do multi-factor durum research.
